KU holds 2017 Career Odyssey Festival

With more than 170 booths installed, the career festival is the largest on-campus job fair in the country.

Korea University hosted 2017 Career Odyssey Festival in the Tiger Dome from September 5th through September 7th.

With more than 170 companies from home and abroad attending, the job fair offered job consulting services and chances for on-site job interviews. In addition to those booths run by individual companies, there were also booths where students could have their resume photos taken or receive editing services on their personal statements.

Ranked as the largest on-campus job festival in Korea, the 2017 Career Odyssey Festival invited companies with excellent reputations and the affiliates of large conglomerates in Korea, such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai Motors, SK, GS, KT, CJ, LS, POSCO, Lotte, Hyosung, and Hanhwa. In order to attract currently enrolled students and graduates to their open recruitment scheduled in the second half of this year, the participating companies offered recruitment consulting services on the spot.

It was also noteworthy that a number of foreign companies including, Continental Automotive Systems, Mizuho Financial Group, and Work in Japan, participated in the fair in order to recruit students from Korea University. State-owned companies and government-funded institutes, such as Korea Workers’ Compensation & Welfare Service and Korea Technology Finance Corporation, had their own booths as well.

In addition, the Ministry of Employment and Labor set up its own promotional booth to hold a seminar in which detailed explanations about its youth employment policy were given. To accommodate additional transportation needs, Korea University arranged extra shuttle buses during the festival so that students could easily access the venue.
