Korea University's student ambassadors, Yeoul, have been conveying the first impression of Korea University to countless people for over 20 years, starting in 1998. They are not just simple guides; they introduce the school to middle and high school students and the general public visiting the campus, and they act as the face of Korea University at entrance ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, and various official events. True to its name, which literally means "to echo Korea University," Yeoul is the voice of the school, delivering a strong resonance.

Q. What made you join Yeoul?
Min-seo: I saw a Yeoul poster on my way to school. It had the phrase "If you're drawn, come," and I was literally so "drawn" that I applied. It was the first time I'd felt this drawn to something during my university life.
Ye-eun: From a long time ago, if I had to choose just one activity I wanted to do most in university, I wouldn't even hesitate to say "Student Ambassador!" It was one of my bucket list items.
Yong-yi: My older sister was also a student ambassador at another university, and watching her made me interested in Yeoul. I looked up every piece of Yeoul-related content without missing a single one while waiting for recruitment.
Ru-an: As a freshman, I became interested in Yeoul after seeing their tour during the Saeteo (Freshmen Pre-Orientation). I thought I wanted to stand in that spot a year later.
Q. How did you feel on the day you conducted your first tour?
Ye-eun: The first feeling I had was "a lump in my throat." It reminded me of my younger self, who dreamed of entering Korea University.
Yong-yi: It was the first day I went on a tour as an official ambassador, and the path to the Central Plaza made me excited and nervous. I tried my best to convey as much information as I knew to the students who looked at me with anticipation, wondering what I would say.
Q. Please share a memorable experience from your Yeoul activities.
Min-seo: As part of the YouTube team, I produced video content. I recorded vlogs of the 27th cohort’s name tag ceremony, regular tours, and workshops.
Ye-eun: The entrance ceremony is the most memorable. I was proud to have helped someone during such an important moment in their life.
Yong-yi: We bonded with team members while spending time together at the winter workshop (or, as is often called, “MT”) in February. I remember having a blast singing "Red Sunset" (Bulgeun Noeul) together.
Ru-an: I participated as the overall coordinator for the winter workshop, planning the entire schedule and leading recreational activities. It's a warm memory of grilling meat and roasting marshmallows.
Q. What is your favorite point about Korea University?
Min-seo: The strong bond of Korea University. Seeing the names of alumni who have donated to Korea University all over the buildings makes me vow that I too will become such an alumna someday.
Ye-eun: The view from the hill leading to the main building's annex office. It makes me realize that I've entered the Korea University I wanted.
Yong-yi: The pagoda-style architecture and the beautiful campus in all four seasons! It feels like being in a youth movie, which makes school enjoyable.
Ru-an: The crimson-colored floors and wisteria benches around the campus, which are symbols showing the spirit of resistance of older Korea University students. The passion and solidarity contained within them are the charm of Korea University.

Q. What was the driving force that allowed you to continue your Yeoul activities?
Ye-eun: Pride. I am proud that Yeoul is reaching many people as "not just a simple guide tour provider, but a deeply moving experience."
Ru-an: I gained strength from tour guests who came from afar, even on cold days, from places such as Busan and Jeju. That made me work even harder.
Q. What is the biggest change you've experienced while being active in Yeoul?
Min-seo: My habit of being late disappeared. I developed a sense of responsibility, and my confidence also increased.
Ye-eun: I felt a sense of gratitude. Since learning more about the history of the school and the background of its buildings, every time I look around the campus, each story comes to mind.
Yong-yi: Through Yeoul, I started to enjoy speaking in front of people and became proficient at it.
Ru-an: From the moment I put on the Yeoul name tag, I felt a responsibility to represent the school. I even tried not to doze off and focus during classes!
Q. What did you learn from the Yeoul team?
Min-seo: Being considerate of others. When we line up to guide tours, I learn a lot by seeing how members try to stand in a line even when they were not asked to.
Yong-yi: I learned how to harmonize with affection and respect. It was impressive to see everyone caring for each other without exception.
Q. What would you like to say to prospective Korea University students?
Min-seo: Even if you feel anxious sometimes, don't give up. If you join Yeoul, I am confident that you will have the most memorable time in your university life. Future KU friends! I’ll be waiting for you!
Ye-eun: "Dedicate your youth to Korea University, and Korea University will dedicate the world to you." Like this slogan says, spread your dreams to the fullest.
Yong-yi: When you come to Korea University, you will discover your true self. This happens when you diligently pursue what you want to do, not just in academics, but also through various activities and with diverse people. If you want to love Korea University even more, I would say don't hesitate to apply for Yeoul after admission!
Ru-an: Just dreaming of Korea University is amazing. If you do your best with that mindset, you will surely live the life you desire.
