Completion ceremony for the KU IWC Session 1
On the afternoon of Thursday, January 17, the International Winter Campus (IWC) held its completion ceremony at the Inchon Memorial Hall in honor of students who successfully completed the first session of the IWC.
A total of 740 students from 88 universities from around the world participated in the IWC, which consists of two sessions. Participants enrolled in the first session and began their three-week program on December 27, 2018, which offered around 30 lectures and various activities.
The completion ceremony kicked off with a congratulatory speech by Sunhyuk Kim, Vice President for International Affairs and Dean of the IWC, who congratulated the students for successfully completing the program and expressed his gratitude to everyone for their enthusiasm. H.E. James Choi, Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Korea, also congratulated the IWC participants, expressing his hope that this experience would help them “gain a global perspective.” Dean Kim personally conferred a completion certificate on Andrea Chang on behalf of all IWC students.
Ng Ki Fung from the University of Hong Kong Science and Technology said, “Three weeks went by so quickly. All the education and experience programs I was offered were of high quality and my days here were always filled with excitement.” Vinvent Io, also from the University of Hong Kong Science and Technology said, “I really enjoyed all the activities offered by the program, in particular, I had a lot of fun learning ice-skating and. I will never be able to forget the wonderful memories and moments I shared with friends from other countries.”
The second session of the IWC is scheduled to begin on January 21. The IWC offers a total of six weeks of programs, lasting three weeks per session.
