Korea University Research and Business Foundation selected as grade A for BRIDGE+ Project

The KU Research and Business Foundation was designated as Grade A for the Beyond Research Innovation & Development for Good Enterprises+ (BRIDGE+) project.

BRIDGE+ aims to encourage universities to transfer their creative assets to businesses and act as a new engine of growth for developing a technology-based nation.

Creative assets include technologies, patents and other research outputs, which hold high promise for commercialization when transferred to industry.

The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea evaluated 35 universities and grouped them into Grades A, B and C to select the final 18 universities.

As an institution designated as Grade A, KU will receive 730 million each year for the coming five years.

Hanyang and Jeonam Universities were also included in the Grade A level. Twelve universities including Pohang Engineering and Yonsei Universities were selected for Grade B, and Sungsil, Sukmyeong and Gyeongsang Universities for Grade C.

KU plans to work together with other universities and create an effective process for transferring medium- and large-scale technologies to businesses in order to implement demand-based commercialization projects.
