Korea University and the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities (hereinafter referred to as “KEAD”) signed an agreement for the ‘Promotion of Employment for the Disabled to Realize Social Values and Practice ESG Management’ in the main building conference room on Tuesday, November 7.

Korea University currently provides generous support to over 200 students with disabilities and has been selected as the best university in terms of the educational welfare of disabled college students for four consecutive years. Through this agreement, Korea University plans to continue to make efforts to expand and stabilize the employment of the disabled and cooperate with KEAD by creating a disability-friendly work environment and a foundation for positive awareness.

KEAD plans to analyze suitable jobs for the disabled, present an employment model, and support Korea University's ESG management practice by hiring the disabled through the provision of diverse employment services, such as recruitment and job training.

President Kim said, “Korea University is leading the way in creating an educational environment friendly to students with disabilities through the Center for Students with Disabilities. Through this cooperation with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities, we will actively strive to fulfill the university’s social responsibility by creating a disability-friendly working environment model, such as by expanding opportunities for disabled workers at universities and developing suitable jobs.”

KEAD Chairman Cho said, “This agreement has significant implications in that it establishes best practice in the education field by determining various positions for the disabled at Korea University and declaring a continued effort to recruit the disabled. I hope that this will be an opportunity to reexamine the value and performance of ESG management practices through the employment of the disabled in educational institutions.”
