Notice : 2024 Human Rights and Gender Equity Courses

Since 2017, Korea University has been providing every year the “Human Rights and Gender Equity Course” (HRGE Courses hereafter) to all members of KU, mandating the completion of the yearly HRGE Courses as a graduation requirement.


In order to meet graduation requirement, all students must take the HRGE Courses once during one academic year while 

enrolled. Please refer to the KU Regulations: in particular, “Detailed rules for the curriculum organization and operation,” 

Article 43 (degree requirements) Paragraph 1.


Please read the following notice carefully and be sure to fulfill the requirement for this year.

 

[Duration]

- Korean & English Languages : From April 01. 2024 (Monday) to February, 11. 2025 (Tuesday)

- Chinese Language : From April 08. 2024 (Monday) to February, 11. 2025 (Tuesday)

 

[How to take the Courses]

- Students are to take all the HRGE Courses displayed on Blackboard.

- Watch all the video clips uploaded on the blackboard, and then take the quiz to pass. (70 points or above out of 100 is a pass.)

- All steps must be completed.

- Do not skip or fast-forward videos.

- Video viewing is tracked and recorded in such a way that the course will not be completed with a less than 100% viewing 

  of any video.

 

[Caution]

- Regarding all other requirements for graduation other than the HRGE courses, please consult your department office.

- Visit ‘KU portal website (KUPID) --> 수업 (Course) --> 교육이수현황조회 (education completion status check)’ at the 

  end of January, 2025 to confirm that your course completion is on record. (This confirmation is available only in the KUPID 

  Korean-language website).

- For further inquiries concerning the HRGE Courses, send e-mail to humanrights@korea.ac.kr, with your name and 

  student ID number. The center will address the emails in order of arrival.

- As from the 2024 academic year, the additional education will NOT be provided to those who fail to complete the requirement

  within the specified period. Please take extra caution to take the HRGE courses in time to complete the graduation requirement.
