Visa Information
International students who plan to study at KLCC for more than one month must obtain a D-4 student visa or a C-3 short-term visa. Students from countries with a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Korea or students with Korean citizenship do not need a visa. Required documents vary from country to country, so please contact the Korean Consulate General in your country in advance.
(1) C-3 Short-Term Visa
C-3 visa allows a three-month stay in Korea. This visa is recommended for students who plan to attend a special program or only one term of the regular program. If a student with a C-3 visa intends to study more than one semester, he/she can change the status of his/her visa and apply for a D-4 visa at the immigration office with all the required documents.

*Documents required for C-3 visa application
- Following documents should be submitted to the Korean Consulate General in your country: A copy of letter of admission, passport, one identical photograph, and other documents additionally required depending on your nationality.
- For more information, visit : http://www.mofat.go.kr/english/visa/apply/index.jsp

※ Changing your visa from C-3 to D-4
Students who have attended eight weeks out of the ten-week regular program and have renewed their enrollment for the next term must apply for change of visa status to D-4. It is recommended students complete foreigner registration when they change their visa status.

*How to change your visa to D-4

(2) D-4 Student Visa
D-4 visa is recommended for students who plan to study at KLCC for three months or longer. This visa allows a six-month stay in Korea and can be renewed for up to one and a half years at the immigration office in Seoul. Since it usually takes over a month to obtain a D-4 visa, students have to begin the process at least two months before the classes start.

(3) Reference Letter
If you are applying for a D-4 visa, you need to submit a notarized copy of reference letter. Your referee must be an adult residing in Korea and working. You can download the form from the website, fill it out, and bring it together with your personal ID and stamp to a lawyer's or a notary's office.
